Certified Humane Raw Beef Dog Food - Ingredients [Beef, Heart, Kidney, Weasand, Liver, & Bone].
From: Prather Ranch
Prather Ranch is synonymous with the highest quality, best raised beef available. A unique closed herd is raised on thousands of acres in Northern California. Certified Humane Raised and Handled, Prather Ranch does not use hormones or antibiotics. In addition, the beef is dry-aged to develop a tenderness and rich flavor. The Prather Ranch is truly a unique place. We are often asked how it “compares” to other beef operations. Between its closed herd status, commitment to conservation and good environmental practices, dedication to the humane treatment of animals, in house hay operations, on site slaughter facility and commitment to producing high quality beef, there simply is no comparison. Prather Ranch beef is pasture raised but finished with a mixture of chopped hay (which is raised at the ranch), barley and rice bran. To produce consistently tender, high quality, flavorful beef year round for the Prather Ranch program.
Sustainable ranching practices at the Prather Ranch: Conservation easements have been placed on over 65% of the land that the ranch operates on. On site hydroelectric plants. Solar powered stock water wells. Solar hot water system for processing plant. Energy and water saving center pivots and sprinkler irrigation systems. Bird boxes, bat boxes, owl boxes to enhance wildlife and natural pest control. Restoration of stream banks and rivers. Pastures planted to legumes to grow our own fertilizer.
Certified Humane: The certified humane label is an important part of the Prather Ranch program. Humane Farm Animal Care audits the ranch annually. The animals are evaluated to be sure they are in good condition, have adequate room to graze and are fed a nutritious diet. There are standard procedures that are required to be followed to harvest and process the animals. It is very important to Prather Ranch that the animals are handled gently and with as little stress as possible. It is the ranch’s intent that Prather Ranch cattle live as calm and stress free life as possible.
Dry-Aged: Prather Ranch has the added advantage of being able to dry-age their beef for a period of two to three weeks; this is truly unique. The dry-aging process breaks down the tissue of the beef, making it more tender and flavorful. It results in a more pleasurable eating experience for our customer. You will see this type of process at only a few of the premiere steak houses.
